Onboard Navigation Systems - Honda Fit

So we had an ugly incedent last Friday and our 1998 Honda Accord with a mere 160 thousand miles was totalled.  So much for being the first 'kids' car.  The great news is that no one was hurt.

So how does this turn into a story about ECM?...car shopping of course!  As one might expect, navigation systems are an option with most any vehicle today.  What I don't get is why anyone would pay over a grand for what you can get wtih your phone!?  I am looking at purchasing the new Honda Fit.  (Now that I am working from home, I really have no need for a big comfortable sedan anymore.  And with gas at $3-$4 bucks a gallon, I'll take 40mpg any day!)

The Fit has a special little glove box with a USB connector for your iPhone!  I can turn on Pandora and let it serve up great new music based on some of my favorite songs, listen to an audio book or integrate the phone with the stereo and onboard microphone!  AND, I can walk away from the $1000 navigation system, becuase my phone already has GPS!!

If they don't lower the prices, I suggest you consider the much more versitile iPhone...(or similar device.)
