EVERNOTE - The ultimate memory aid

Hmmm, I never thought the vision for a 'paperless world' would come to include scratch paper and post-it-notes, but with Evernote, it just might!

So the other day I was driving in the car and was struck with a few thoughts that seemed worth writing down.  Problem was, I had nothing to write on...not to mention writing while driving is even worse that talking on the phone.  But wait, that's it...my iPhone, I bet someone has a voice recorder application that could help me?!  Of course I was right, because everything and anything exists in the app store.

So this was how I found Evernote.  Cool thing is, not only does it allow me to take Voice Notes, it also allows me to make Text Note, Snapshot Note and Saved Photo Notes.  AND THEN, it immediately saves them to my own little place on the web so that I can access them from anywhere!  And I get to add titles and tags before I save.  Cool.

USE CASE:  One of our cars got totalled a few weeks ago.  Within hours I was on the phone with the insurance company receiving case numbers and rental car information and names and phone numbers...Ugh.  So I was at my laptop and put all of this information into a single note using Evernote from my PC.   Nice, everything in one place.  Two hours later, I went to the place they hauled the car to recrieve personal items.  Upon arriving, I was suprised to learn that I needed my case number to be allowed into the yard where my car was kept.  $&#@!  ...but wait, no problem, I can access that note from my iPhone!  Nice.

USE CASE 2: Your out to a resturant and have a great bottle of wine and you want to remember it for another time.  ...take a Snapshot Photo...DONE.

Not sure how many of you may have already discoverd Evernote, but it is definitely work checking out.
