Not sure if this is an endorsement or a criticism of Twitter, but certainly an indication that people are using it.
My own experience with Twitter was quite frustrating at first, but I could not get over the fact that nearly 2 million people were already using it...so I kept playing. After months of pondering, I finally realized how I could make Twitter useful.
As you may already be aware, much of my work is recruiting in the ECM space. Sooo, I surmise that if I can get enough ECM related candidates following me on Twitter, I will have another audience of candidates and referral sources. This will not happen overnight, but if I keep religiously posting updates about the candidates I am looking for AND KEEP PAYING $2500.00 to the referral source when I place their referral...eventually, my audience will grow AND pay attention to me 'Tweets'! (...maybe even set my tweets to forward to their mobile devices!)
So, my trick will be using the tool consistently to attract the people who are interested, and avoid the people who are not.
If you have other interesting ideas for Twitter, I would love to hear them. Thanks!
